Biomutant has a handful of vehicles for the players to unlock and play around with. These vehicles have unique characteristics that separate them from the game’s average mounts. Most are unlockable by progressing through the main campaign, while others require players to explore a little deeper.

Mounts Vs. Vehicles

Before the players get into the vehicles they can use in Biomutant, they should keep in mind that mounts and vehicles, although can be categorized under the same mechanic, aren’t necessarily the same things.

The mounts in Biomutant can be unlocked by taming. They are also readily available anywhere on the game’s map. As long as players have Pips, which are used to tame mounts, they will have the chance to collect a handful of different handful of different mounts. Unlocking vehicles, however, requires a bit more time and work.

Mekton

The Mekton vehicle is one of, if not the earliest vehicle the player will be able to unlock in the game if they’re sticking with the main campaign. The Mekton is a vehicle the player receives from Gizmo. It provides immunity to Hypoxia, which allows players to traverse the Dead Zone. It is also very useful in dealing with the Worldeater Jumbo Puff.

To unlock the Mekton vehicle, the player must first complete The Chugyard quest, which will lead them to Gizmo. Once they meet with this NPC, he will provide them with a series of quests. The player will then need to complete them in order to make the Mekton fully functional.

Googlide

The Googlide is the player’s best friend when it comes to traversing open waters. This vehicle’s abilities will allow players to cross even contaminated waters, as long as they upgrade its engines. It also has the ability to turbo boost, which increases the vehicle’s speed. Finally, it can fire grappling hooks, which act as a powerful ranged weapon that clears obstructions and damages opponents.

The Googlide is unlocked by completing Goop’s series of quests, which leads to the Porky Puff Worldeater encounter. The player also needs this vehicle in order to defeat the boss, which means the player will definitely unlock this vehicle if they’re going through the main campaign.

Octopod

The Octopod is one of the most unique vehicles in the game. It is the only vehicle in Biomutant that actually allows players to submerge underwater, although they can only use it during the Murk Puff Worldeater boss fight.

Players unlock the Octopod by completing the series of quests given to the players by Whiz. This NPC is located in the Surgesurf Factory, which is in Sector 12F. This is also part of the main questline, which means the player won’t be able to miss this vehicle as long as they stick with the main campaign.

Mekanofingro

The Mekanofingro is an incredible vehicle that can function as a normal mount, with added perks and abilities. This vehicle can be ridden and summoned in any area like a regular mount, but it also comes with a melee attack and a ranged attack. Its design is unlike any other in the game.

Players unlock the Mekanofingro by doing the Whiz Main Quest. This vehicle can be easily spotted during one of the objectives as the player is scrambling for the proper parts and doing missions to make the Octopod operational.

Pee-Wee Gargantua

The Pee-Wee Gargantua is the second vehicle in the game that allows players to traverse oceanic areas. Unlike the Googlide, this vehicle is easy to miss as players can’t discover it during the main questline. It does, however, involve an NPC the players will meet during the main quest: Gill.

Gill is located in Burblebottom. Once the player completes Whiz’s main quests, they can return to Gill so they can do his side quests. Completing Gill’s quests will lead the players to free the Pee-Wee Gargantua, which will then allow them to use this creature as an aquatic vehicle. The Pee-Wee Gargantua is able to traverse contaminated waters.

Gullblimp

Those who want to completely traverse the Kluppy Dunes area, which can only be fully explored with the use of a flying vehicle, will need the Gullblimp to do so. This vehicle is very unique and entertaining to use. However, it can only be summoned while the player is in the Kluppy Dunes.

To unlock this vehicle, the player will need to go to Lobo and complete his side quests. Lobo is located in the Blimpstation, which can be found in Sector 9J.

Batnam-Nam

The Batnam-Nam is a cross between a mount and a vehicle. It does function like a regular mount, in that it can be summoned anywhere and it can be used to explore on land. However, it also the a unique feature of being able to glide through the air.

When jumping from great heights while mounting the Batnam-Nam, the player must simply hold the jump button to glide through the air, like the standard Automaton upgrade Airglider. The Batnam-Nam can be unlocked after the player completes Pebble’s side quests, who can be found in Knack Hill.
