What Players Will Need

There are a few things players will need before unlocking the ability to dual wield the pistol of the their choice. Naturally, players will need to unlock each pistol in order to first obtain the perk that will allow them to dual wield it. To find out which pistol is best or which one fits a certain play style, there is an ongoing Modern Warfare weapons tier list that has recently been updated for Season Two that players can check out for a quick refresher.

Additionally, players are going to need to have unlocked specific perks for specific pistols in order to unlock the ability to dual wield them. This we’ll be detailed fully a bit further down, but players are going to need to have unlocked perks like Sleight of Hand, FMJ, and Frangible-Wounding for certain pistols before akimbo becomes available.

Unlocking Akimbo

Unlocking dual wielding for every pistol is going to be no easy feat. Thankfully, it works a bit like the previous season’s challenge for unlocking the crossbow. While the challenges are different for every pistol, the challenges themselves are pretty simple. The requirements to unlock the Akimbo perk for each different pistol are as follows:

X16 – Get 3 kills in 5 different matches using the ‘Sleight of Hand’ perk 1911 – Get 3 kills in 5 different matches using the ‘Mo’Money’ perk . 357 – Get 3 kills in 5 different matches using the ‘Recon’ perk M19 – Get 3 kills in 5 different matches using the ‘Frangible-Wounding’ perk . 50 GS – Get 3 kills in 5 different matches using the ‘FMJ’ perk

Each pistol requires getting three kills in five separate matches, but the perk that must be equipped is different for every pistol. Unlocking each of the respective perks is probably what will take up most player’s time. Thankfully, getting the required kills shouldn’t be too challenging.

Additionally, it looks like Infinity Ward has really been listening to community feedback. The development team has been consistently reaching out to fans online and addressing concerns and questions. Season Two looks to bringing some great content to Modern Warfare. Hopefully, the game’s battle royale mode that was leaked shapes up to be a great addition to the game.
