Discovery+ Offers Two Rating Restrictions
Within a family profile, Discovery+ offers two rating restriction options. Streaming content can be restricted to TV-PG or TV-G ratings.
TV-G is recommended for all ages. TV-PG is recommended for all ages; however, some scenes may necessitate parental discretion or supervision.
By creating a family profile and setting the desired rating restriction, parents can limit what streaming content is available on that particular profile.
It is important to keep in mind that you can’t change an existing Discovery+ profile into a family profile. You must create a new profile, set it as a family profile, and institute rating restrictions.
While creating a family profile will limit the content shown on that profile, it does not lock children out of navigating away from the family profile and using another profile on the same account to watch more mature content.
An account PIN must be created and placed on each profile containing mature content to limit access to adult profiles.
How to Set Up a Discovery+ Family Profile
General maturity rating restrictions are placed on an entire profile of your Discovery+ account if you mark it as a family profile.
To create a family profile, follow these steps:
Once logged into your Discovery+ account on a web browser, navigate to the manage profiles tab. Select the Manage Profiles button. Click the + icon titled Add Profile. Name your Profile. Toggle on the family profile button. This will cause a drop-down box to appear. Select the family rating you wish to apply to the profile in the drop-down box. Click Save.

How to Establish a Discovery+ PIN

To set a PIN for a Discovery+ account, follow these steps:
Once logged into your Discovery+ account on a web browser, navigate to the manage profiles tab. Click the Manage Profiles button. Select the adult profile you wish to place the PIN lock on. Select Create PIN. You will then be prompted to reenter your account password. Input your chosen four-digit PIN. Select Save.
Once saved, the PIN you set will be required to access the correlating profile.
How to Reset Your Discovery+ PIN
Keep in mind that children, especially those of older ages, may figure out how to bypass parental control software. If compromised or forgotten, you can reset a PIN through the manage profiles section of the Discovery+ account page.
