How to Setup Fitbit Versa
Setting up the Versa is a fast and simple process. Here’s how to do it:
Turn on and charge your device. You can get a full day of battery life in just 12 minutes with fast charging. Download the Fitbit app for your smartphone. Download For: iOS Android Open the app and tap Log-in or Create Account. If you already have a Fitbit account, you won’t need to create a new one. The app may walk you through the process of connecting your new Versa watch automatically. If it doesn’t, you can tap the Account icon and tap + Set up a Device. Choose the device you’re setting up. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the device setup. Your watch automatically syncs with the Fitbit app on your phone or tablet. Your watch and your phone must use the same Wi-Fi network for the setup and syncing process. You need to enter some personal details and agree to the Terms of Service, then put your Versa onto the charging cradle to complete the device setup. You may also need to update the Versa’s firmware. This can take up to half an hour to complete, so be patient.
What Do the Buttons on a Fitbit Versa Do?
Once your Fitbit Versa is set up, and you’re sure you’re wearing it right, then you can start using it. If you’re using a Fitbit Vera, there are three buttons on the device—one on the left and two on the right.

The left button is the Back button. When you long-press this, it opens the Quick Settings where you can control your music, among other things. The buttons on the right control apps. By default, a quick press of the top right button controls the top-left app on the first app screen. A long-press opens your notifications. The bottom right button opens the app located on the bottom left of the first app screen.
There’s only one button on the Fitbit Versa 2. This is the Back button, and a short press takes you to the previous screen. You can set what you want the button to do on a long press in the Fitbit app on your phone.

In the Fitbit app, you can set it up so you’re notified on your watch when text messages and phone calls come in. To set this feature up:
In the Fitbit app, tap the Today tab > your profile picture > your device image > Notifications. Follow the on-screen instructions to pair your Fitbit device to your phone and allow the Fitbit app to access notifications. Choose the types of notifications you want to receive and the apps you want to use with them. Tap App Notifications to choose other apps you want notifications from. Sync your device.
