Pokemon GO is a massively successful augmented reality mobile game developed by Niantic for iOS and Andriod. The game came out during the summer of 2016 and was met with mostly positive reviews for its concept and promotion of physical activity, despite issues with technical problems.

The game is still going strong and has since gone through drastic changes such as introducing more species of Pokemon and allowing for trading. Now adding on to that list of updates, Pokemon GO will enable players to apply gift stickers to Pokemon when trading with allies that serve as a new way to show appreciation for a trade.

A set of five gift stickers have already been given to everyone for free and can be applied to any traded Pokemon players send to friends or strangers. To use the gift stickers, when players are sending a Pokemon to their friend, they simply have to click the “Add Sticker” button and choose the sticker of their choosing. The other player should see the sticker on the top right corner of their gift of a fun drawing when they open the gift.

Players should use caution when choosing a gift sticker because only one sticker can be applied per trade, and each sticker can only be used once before going away. However, players can still get more gift stickers through opening gifts sent to them by other players or buying more through a bundle on the store, a feature that is said to be included in future updates.

Currently, there are only five different types of gift stickers available in the game. Niantic has teased that more will be released slowly over time, so players can enjoy these fun designs for the moment as they are getting used to the system. Gift stickers are a wholesome way to sprinkle a player’s trades with kindness when showing appreciation to their friends. In a game all about friendship and community building, we hope that Niantic continues to include fun extra features like this in the near future.
