RELATED: Best Pose Mods For The Sims 4

Luckily, Andrew at the Sims4Studio created a mod that allows Sims 4 gamers to play with over 12,000 animations/poses. What is this mod? How to use it? Where are the poses located? Read this guide to find out.

Updated on August 1, 2022, by Ritwik Mitra: The Sims 4 is one of the most popular PC games of all time. So it’s only a given that the series has been graced with a litany of amazing mods that do everything from giving Sims different actions to tweaking the gameplay aspects of the title as well. One such type of mod that has become really popular for players to show their Sims off is pose mods, and here is everything players need to know about pose mods for The Sims 4.

Required Mods To Use Poses In The Sims 4

There are two crucial mods required for poses in The Sims 4 to work. The Pose Player and the Teleport Any Sim (both can be found on the Sims4Studio). These mods are considered Custom Content (CC) so, after downloading them, players have to extract the files into Documents ⇒ Electronic Arts ⇒The Sims 4 ⇒ Mods.

Another important step would be to head to The Sims 4’s options, go to Other and enable Custom Content and Mods and Script Mods. Otherwise, the poses won’t appear in the game.

Where To Download Poses?

Poses can be downloaded from a variety of websites. However, most poses are available on The Sims Resource, which is a site that has over one million CC. Players can find poses under the Mods category. They can also write a specific pose in the search box.

Another impressive site is the Maxis Match CC World Tumblr. Not only does it categorize it by quantity, but it also separates the poses by age, gender, and type. For example, there are poses for camping, Christmas, and wedding, and they’re all listed alphabetically. Among other prominent features, this site has a section for Create A Sim (CAS) poses.

When Simmers are done downloading poses, they need to place them in the Mods folder in Documents.

How Do The Sims 4 Poses Work?

Usually, poses can work in two places; Create A Sim (CAS) and in-game. The first is mostly for CC creators as they download poses to showcase their newest creation, be it hair, clothing, accessories, and so on.

First, when downloading the pose, the creator will explain which Trait the poses will work for. So, for instance, if a certain pose is for the Perfectionist Trait, this pose will play once Simmers select this Trait in CAS.

Second, to take photos, Sims 4 players need to capture as many images as they can using the screenshot option, as the poses will play one after another. Later, Simmers can pick the ones they liked and delete the rest. Fortunately, in CAS, players can zoom in and zoom out as much as they want.

Simmers need to keep in mind that every Trait can hold one set of poses. So, if they downloaded two sets for the Bookworm Trait, one might not play or sometimes both won’t work.

The in-game poses can be used by anyone for anything. For this, Simmers need to place their Sims in the desired Lot and set the perfect background. Thanks to the Pose Player, when they select a Sim, two options will come up; Pose by Name and Pose by Pack.

It is better to choose the second option, as the first is not practical. Pose by Name asks players to write the specific name of the pack or the pose while the Pose by Pack will open a list with all the available pose packs.

But before picking the wanted pack, the Sims need to be standing in the same spot. Usually, it will be an impossible task to do in The Sims 4. However, thanks to the Teleport Any Sim mod, the unthinkable can be done. The Teleporter, which resembles a knight statue, can be found in Build Mode (If players type “Teleport” in the Search Box, the item will appear immediately).

Keep in mind that the number of Teleporters needs to match the Sims. For example, a pose for three Sims needs three Teleporters.

As to where to place them, often, the Teleporters are placed on top of the desired spot. But some poses require the Teleporters to be separated. Don’t worry about doing it wrong, though. The creator of the pose pack usually explains where to place everything.

Now it’s time for the last step. After putting the Teleporters, Simmers have to click on them one by one and teleport the Sims into it by using the Teleport a Sim Here option. The other option, Summon a Sim Here, allows players to bring any Sim from anywhere in The Sims 4 even if they are not part of the household. After that, players need to:

Press on one of the Sims Select Pose by Pack Choose the pack they want their Sim to pose Repeat the same thing with the rest of the Sims

The circle on the top left of the list will contain the selected Sim, so players know which pose to choose.

Most of the time, creators distinguish the poses in every pack by highlighting the selected Sim on the image that comes with the packs. Sometimes, they classify the poses by naming them F1, M1, and F2, M2, which stand for Female and Male so that the players know every pose belongs to whom. After assigning each Sim to a pose, simply take pictures of them.

Pose Mods To Start Out With

Players who want to check out the best poses they can make their Sim perform can check out the following mods to accomplish the same.

Kiss Me Like You Do

A big part of The Sims 4 is initiating and progressing romances in the game. Sims can either become loyal compatriots or mess around with a bunch of other characters. Either way, the experience is great.

Players who want to flaunt their virtual paramours can do the same with the Kiss Me Like You Do mod. It’s a simple yet great way to show off the passionate love shared between two Sims.

Pageant Poses #2

Sometimes, players that want to show off their Sim’s outfit need to take the classic route for the same. This is where the Pageant Poses mod comes into the picture.

It lets players flaunt the looks and clothes of their Sims with ease. The second pack is pretty popular, but all the Pageant Poses are worth checking out in their own right.

Family Night – PosePack

Starting families and forming dynasties is one of the biggest draws of The Sims. Players love to see the sense of progression that comes up when players create entire households with detailed family trees from scratch.

With this pose mod, players can show off just how happy their families really are. It’s a simple yet fun way to make the families of The Sims 4 seem more playful in screenshots.

Model Poses 15 Selfie

Sometimes, the simplest mods are the ones that let players perform the most basic functions. Such is the case with this mod, which lets a Sim pose for a selfie in a pretty natural fashion.

It’s a great way to take some fun pics of a Sim when they’re dolled up. Most of these poses are great and detailed without feeling too over-the-top or out of place.

Multiple Couple Poses

The focus that romance has in The Sims 4 is a topic that’s already been discussed at length. When this love is in the air, a pose mod can do wonders for immortalizing these couples with some artistic pictures.

The Multiple Couple Poses mod is pretty great in this context. Couples can get rather intimate and cute with these mods, and the pictures that come out, as a result, are pretty excellent indeed.

The Sims 4 is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
